Legendary basketball player Shaquille O’Neal and gaming software developer Dynamic Gaming Systems have announced the release of their blackjack collaboration, which is dubbed “Shaq Jack”.
The game is a live dealer terminal that is playable exclusively at Parx Casino in Pennsylvania and features a hybrid blackjack and slot machine setup. Players are able to select one of three different hands, which are then dealt out by a live dealer elsewhere in the casino. Players are then given the choice to play out the hand without the interference of other players, including the option to hit, stand, split, and take insurance.
Shaq finds his way into the game through its branding, as the terminals have a basketball theme and the future Hall of Famer appears in cyber form to congratulate you on winning hands and offer you insurance. The game went live on October 4th at Parx Casino, where more than 155,000 people visit every week.
Commenting on the release Dynamic Gaming CEO Charlie Barksdale said, “I wanted to find a way to make a casino game fun for everyone and find a way to bring Shaq’s unique brand of humor to the gaming floor. We clicked right away when we started talking about creating this game. We wanted a game that was familiar to everyone, even those with a modest appetite for gaming, but one that would still provide us with opportunities to bring new elements of excitement and rewards to the experience.”
Parx Casino CEO Tony Ricci added: “When we had the opportunity to play the game and we personally experienced Shaq’s enthusiasm for creating this thrilling new game for our customers, we knew we had to have it. Shaq himself is synonymous with excitement, winning and fun โ and that is what we want our guests to think about Parx
