Punters looking to play regulated online casino games and place wagers on sports in Michigan will be allowed to do so starting on Friday, January 22nd at noon as the Michigan Gaming Control Board has authorized the activities to begin.
The state has authorized nine operators to begin offering casino games like slots, table games, video poker, and more on the 22nd. The casinos that’ll be operating on launch day include DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Golden Nugget, Penn National, and Wynn. There will be standard blackjack games as well as live dealer games. Evolution will be broadcasting webcast games, and there’ll be titles from the likes of NetEnt and other developers also available.
It should be noted that these casinos are offering a number of compelling promotions and the playthrough requirements are very low. Casinos will be offering deskotp and mobile services. Players will have to be 21 years of age or older and physically located in Michigan at the time of their wagers.
“The Michigan Gaming Control Board and the state’s commercial and tribal casinos will begin a new era Jan. 22 with the launch of regulated online gaming and sports betting,” said Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Richard Kalm. “Michigan residents love sports and, judging by inquiries we’ve received, eagerly anticipate using mobile devices to place bets through the commercial and tribal casinos. Online gaming and sports betting will provide the casinos with new ways to engage with customers while the state and local communities will benefit from taxes and payments on wagering revenue.”
Online Blackjack is going to be preparing a report on the new regulated blackjack market in Michigan and will be publishing that in the near future.
